To apply for an ETIAS to visit Italy, you can complete an online application form. The ETIAS is a visa waiver program from the European Union.

Application process

Go to the ETIAS website

Fill out the application form

Pay the application fee

Wait for an email with your authorization or rejection

What you'll need

A valid passport with at least three months remaining after your planned departure

An email address

A credit or debit card to pay the application fee

Application questions

Personal details like your name, date of birth, and nationality

Travel plans, including your first destination in the Schengen Area

Health, criminal history, and previous trips to Europe

Processing time

Most applications are processed within minutes

In some cases, it can take up to a week

If you're flagged for further checks, processing might take longer

Validity

The ETIAS is valid for three years or until your passport expires, whichever comes first
